Yasemin Çetinel Served as a Guest Lecturer at the Istanbul Technical University Certificate Program

On 9 April 2025 our Founding Partner, Yasemin Çetinel, joined leading academics and practitioners as a guest lecturer at the prestigious “International Construction Contracts and Claims Management Certificate Program” organized by Istanbul Technical University (ITU). Held at the Hilton Istanbul Bosphorus Hotel, the program brought together professionals from across the construction sector to deepen their understanding of international contracts and dispute management.

The program provided an intensive curriculum covering the management of construction projects, contract delivery systems, pricing strategies, payment methods, and international construction contracts with a focus on FIDIC. Participants explored in depth the risk clauses of FIDIC contracts, the innovations introduced by FIDIC 2017, delay analysis and compensation calculations, and dispute resolution mechanisms, including claims procedures, dispute boards, ADR, and arbitration. In addition, the training addressed construction law, insurance, claim strategy development, and practical case studies on preparing and responding to claims.

For our firm, this engagement underscores our role as an active contributor to industry education and a trusted advisor at the intersection of law and construction. It also highlights the value we bring to clients, combining technical legal knowledge with a deep understanding of how contractual and dispute resolution frameworks impact projects in practice.

As cross-border projects grow in scale and complexity, initiatives like ITU’s certificate program are vital in equipping professionals with the tools to anticipate risks, manage claims effectively, and safeguard project success. Our firm’s involvement ensures that both current and future industry leaders benefit from our real-world expertise in international construction law.
